Rosario

Rosario is also an amazing grandmother to her daughters’ four little boys. She spends a lot of time visiting and helping care for the little men.

But when her daughter’s twins were born Rosario began to have a hard time caring for them. Her osteoporosis was taking over, she felt weak, sluggish, and unsteady on her feet.

Anyone familiar with osteoporosis knows that the maintenance medication can be bit harsh on the system too.

Goals

My goal with Rosario was to safely begin strength training with a strong focus on building up the muscles surrounding her hips and spine. Balance was also a crucial element to her training program.

We train together twice a week.

Results

Rosario’s case is one that ranks at the top for me. I will never forget the day she came in for a session and told me that her doctor said she no longer needs her osteoporosis medication. Those words spoke volumes to me.

Exercise has changed her life. She gets up from the floor without s struggle now, and she’s squatting an impressive amount of weight.

What brings her the most happiness and satisfaction is that she can pick up her grandchildren and place them safely in their cribs – something she couldn’t even imagine doing only a few short months ago.

Jena

As an 18 year old high school lacrosse player, Jena came to me with a large syllabus of exercises prescribed to her by her lacrosse coaches at the University of Colorado.

She needed help understanding the exercises and getting started with them, as weight training was new to her and we had only six weeks to train before school started.

Goals

For Jena’ s training routine, I needed to build a program where we could target a lot of areas in a short time period without burn out or injury. We trained together three days a week for 6 weeks.

I incorporated weight training, HIIT, agility, TRX, and resistance band training into each workout I built for her. I varied rep range and weights, and kept things new and interesting.

Specific training goals included improving: muscle mass increase, muscle endurance, speed/agility, balance, power, flexibility and mobility.

Results

Jena’s strength goals exceeded my expectations. Her dedication to training was remarkable: In our short time together her strength nearly quadrupled. Her confidence in her abilities strengthened, and she proved to herself how awesome it is to see that hard work pays off.

I feel confident that the tools I handed off to her on her new journey not only satisfied the exercise requirements given to her, but also helped her Lacrosse game.

Client Case Study: Katie https://www.encinitastrainer.com/client-case-study-katie/ Thu, 11 Jul 2019 19:10:42 +0000 https://www.encinitastrainer.com/?p=273 Katie was struggling losing weight after having a baby. Even those that lose the pounds often feel deflated, like someone let all the air out of a balloon. That's why we work to increase strength and build muscle.

Katie

Between juggling a full time job, being a super mom to two little boys, and a beautiful wife to her hubby, Katie was looking for something new to add to her workout routine.

Katie was a runner until a fractured left foot and tendinitis made that a bit of a struggle to continue. She was enjoying a variety of exercise classes from Barre and Pilates to Step and Zumba classes, but she wanted a bit more of a one-on-one approach.

All moms know the struggle of losing weight after having a baby.  Even those that lose the pounds often feel deflated… like someone let all the air out of a balloon.  Katie was stuck in this vicious cycle.

Goals

The goals for Katie were increasing strength, toning, and muscle definition.

Results

Katie and I have been training together once a week for close to a year now. I’ve seen her strength and abilities grow greatly.  We enjoy doing a variety of HIIT training to get that sweat on, and full-body resistance work to tighten up.

We focus on building core strength with interval sets of ankle weighted belly blaster circuits.

We always have fun and a good laugh. Being a mom of two boys myself, it’s nice to share stories and experiences.
