And Common Answers

If women lift weights, can they get "too big" and "look like men"?

This is a myth. Strength training (with weights) is actually one of the only long-term effective ways to stay lean and in shape, since muscle actually burns fat.  Women simply can not get a bodybuilder’s muscle mass look unless they specifically train for that (in the exact same way that men do): By lifting heavy weights 5-6 hours a day, every day of the week.

How long does it take to get in shape?

This is highly dependent on dietary factors and activity level. With regular exercise and a healthier lifestyle, feeling better and stronger can take as little as a few session.

Why are personal trainers helpful?

Personal trainers provide individualized training and specific exercises catered to the individual. They also provide a higher level of accountability and support that individuals sometimes need.

What is strength training?

Also known as resistance training, strength training aims to build lean muscle and burn fat.

Why don't diet and fitness fads work long term?

They are fads. Quite often diet and fitness fads have little science behind them, and can actually do more harm than good.

What doesn't everyone go to big club gyms?

For many, big club gyms can get boring quickly, there is rarely instruction or accountability, and there are often many people, and a lack of privacy.
